Ryo is someone I’ve had the pleasure of working with in the past. We always tend to catch ourselves in different corners of the world, especially as he was born in Japan but recently spends his days studying in L.A. I originally helped him shoot a bit of a look portfolio back in Edmonton as he was entering fashion related courses in the United States. In the mean time he’s been making a name for himself and I have no doubt he will be a big name some day if things keep going the way they are.
Last time we got to work together was when he helped organize the Tokyo BeastZ shoot in Shibuya last year. This time around we managed to meet up in Meguro and put together a few quick portraits in our spare time. Speaking of time, it was a little bit against us this particular shoot and we only had a small window to work in. We will definitely have more things coming up in the near future so stay tuned for that.
In this particular case I wanted to go for more of a street look, both in style and editing. It’s a bit of a different look than I’ve been doing lately, especially trying to get more of a subdued film look to it all.
By the way, you may recognize the person along side him in the last shot. That would be Aichi, a very talented person in the dance scene as he’s recently been featured in a commercial here in Japan for Sony and does work as a dancer with LMFAO. More to come soon!
