One of my guilty pleasures when ever the times line up is taking the Romance Car, a special set of trains, from my work place to Shinjuku. These trains run on the same line as the regular trains but are usually geared towards travel between Shinjuku and Hakone or Enoshima. Unlike the regular commuter trains you also pay a fee for a reserved seat which as you can imagine is a bit more comfortable than standing on a cramped car on Odakyu Line. Every now and then I opt to take one of these back to Shinjuku as the cost is only ¥400 more than I would normally pay and the comfortable seat is well worth it. This is also a nice opportunity to enjoy some photography during the trip.
A slice of daily life in Japan.
