It’s certainly been a while since I’ve shared my mind on here. 2017 itself flew by and despite some deep seated aspirations to grow as a photographer, whether it be in the business or personal sense of the word, I ended up spinning my tires and not really finding the motivation to do so. The will was there but that doesn’t count for much when you don’t have action to supplement it. So, perhaps in many sense 2017 was a bit of a loss but I’m a firm believer that while my composition and editing didn’t see any progress the experiences, perspectives, and opinions you come across in your life certainly saturate your images with a style you can call your own. Living life is a big part of that, and so are the challenges you face on those journeys. So with that it can be said that while the camera didn’t see much action, I feel like I’ve grown as an individual and am better equipped to bring that forth into what I want my photography to become this year.
It’s easy of course to sit here and proclaim an intent but action is where it counts. Let’s take it one step at a time and set our eyes towards a long distant goal of actively participating in the photo community. This is just the first step in that direction.
